Step One: We all mess up and it is our sin that separates us from God.
Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God".
Step Two: There is a price to be paid for our sins, but Jesus has already paid the price for you by dying on the cross to take away your sin.
Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 5:8, "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Step Three: To accept the gift given to you by Jesus you must call upon Him, repent, and believe.
To repent means that you turn from living the way you want to live and start living the way God wants you to live.
Acts 17:30 states, ". . . God . . . commands all people everywhere to repent."
Acts 16:31 says, "And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved".
You can recieve the gift He has given you right now. Pray this prayer, or a similar one. The words you use aren't as important as the meaning that comes from your heart.
Pray This Prayer:
"Jesus, I know I have messed up and have sinned. Forgive me for my sins. Thank you for paying the price and dying for my sins. Right now, I accept You as my Lord and Savior and I want to live my life Your way and not my own. Thank You for forgiveness and for giving me a new life. Help me to be what You want me to be and to live each day for You. Amen."
